Doctrina Christiana, the first book printed in the Philippines, Manila,
1593. A facsimile of the copy in the Lessing J. Ro senwald
Collection. [Washington, Library of Congress, 1947]. Original quarter
cloth and paper boards. Fine. The regular edition was 2500 copies. This is
one of 100 numbered copies on Stratford all- rag paper. With an
introductory essay by Edwin Wolf 2nd. 50 pp., followed by the facsimile on
unnumbered pages. The unique copy of the Doctrina Christiana was presented
to the Library of Congress by Lessing J. Rosenwald. Inscribed by Lessing J.
Rosenwald on the front free endpaper to Elizabeth Mongan , his curator, who
played a major role in the development of his collections: "To M / with
kindest regards. / Lessing J Rosenwald / 3/10/47". $250.00
