Clark, Roland. "GUNNER'S DAWN". New York; The Derrydale Press: 1937.
Edition limited to 950 copies. Roland Clark was one of the premier
wildfowl artist of the 20th century. This was his second book of gunning
tales, coming between "Stray Shots" and "Pot Luck". As John Holman writes
in the Introduction to "Pot Luck"- "As a teller of tales that grip the
hearts of men who go out in the early dawn and cast their decoys on rosy
waters, or tramp the frosty uplands, he is hard to surpass". Hardcover.
7.5"x10.25", 125 pages, an original signed etching as the frontispiece,
plus 5 color and 14 b/w plates; color plates with tissue guards;
publisher's full, gilt-ruled leather with a gilt duck emblem stamped on
the front; covers with minor wear, a little rubbing, abrasion, etc., gilt
duck somewhat rubbed. Contents with a bit of light spotting on the tissue
guards and very minorly on a few color plate margins. Bookplate on front
pastedown with minor offsetting on the ffe. [04841] $500.00

Edition limited to 460 copies. Roland Clark was one of the premier
wildfowl artist of the 20th century. This was his third book of gunning
tales, following "Stray Shots" and "Gunner's Dawn". As John Holman writes
in the Introduction- "As a teller of tales that grip the hearts of men who
go out in the early dawn and cast their decoys on rosy waters, or tramp
the frosty uplands, he is hard to surpass". Hardcover. 6.5"x10", 101
pages, 1 b/w and 6 color plates, and line illustrations, by Roland Clark.
Publisher's tan/brick cloth with gilt duck vignette; slipcased. A little
light soil, but a very nice copy. [04840] $225.00

of Roland Clark". Henderson; John T. Ordeman: 1989. Limited to 1100
copies. If Roland Clark was one of the premier wildfowl artists of the
20th century. This profusely illustrated appreciation includes chapters on
Clark's life and work, books, poems, drypoints, Derrydale prints, and an
introduction by his daughter. Hardcover. 8.5"x11", 118 pages, b/w
illustrations, dj; near fine. [04811] $60.00
