The original volume of “Poems on Affairs of State”; two more volumes (“The 
Second Part” and “Part III”) appeared by the end of the century.   Milton is 
credited with the sections of text entitled, “directions to a painter.” Wing 
P2719. There are apparently different editions dated “1697” – ours ends at 
p.260, followed by a 16 page addenda.
