Chicago: 1912 - 1915. First Edition. Five volumes in
publisher's green cloth stamped in black. The origin of the
most important American literary periodical to feature
poetry. Other poets represented include H.D., Richard
Aldington, Vachel Lindsay, Amy Lowell, Joseph Campbell,
Edgar Lee Masters, and many others. Notable first
appearances include Sandburg's "Chicago" and Joyce Kilmer's
"Trees." This set has in the first volume a second title
page laid in that may or may not have been bound in at one
point. The layout is similar to the title page that is bound
in but a little different with slightly different type. This
set with the ownership bookplates in each volume of Frank A.
Vanderlip, who led National City Bank in the early 1900s to
become the largest bank in the United States as well as
opening the first foreign branch of any United States bank.
Occasional foxing to contents and covers. Very Good and
quite uncommon run of this important periodical. $1500.00
