Greetings All,

For your consideration:
~
(No. 5067 ) Green, Karen Mauer (compiler). THE MARYLAND GAZETTE, 1727-1761:
GENEALOGICAL AND HISTORICAL ABSTRACTS.
Galveston: Frontier Press, 1989. First printing, Full cloth, Octavo, [viii],
324 pages, Title page drawing by Edwin Tunis. Fine, Issued sans dust jacket.
Green has sifted through the mountains of microfilmed issues of the
Gazette to pull out personal names, places, shipnames, etc. There is a
wealth of information on articles and advertisements concerning not just
Maryland, but Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania as well because the
Maryland Gazette was often the only newspaper serving these areas. The
entries are full of runaway slaves, arriving ships, stolen and strayed
horses, business announcements, death notices and other such events of daily
life in colonial Maryland. Arranged in chronological order and fully
indexed, this book is the best starting point for anyone trying to find a
mention of a specific person, place or thing in colonial Maryland. Dark blue
cloth with silver stamped lettering to spine and upper board. $150.00
