gilt, and in original publisher's dust jacket. The Cresset Press, 
London. 1935. 1st edition, hb, 8vo, pp. 142. Signed by Wells, in ink, on 
the front free endpaper.

"A film story based on the material contained in his history of the 
future /The Shape of Things to Come/". "/Things to Come/ is a complete 
and thrilling story, which is not impaired in any way although the full 
technical details of the film are given". The boards are bumped at the 
tips and along the bottom and top edges. The embossed gilt labels to the 
front board and the spine are fine, with no scuffing or scraping. The 
contents are clean and tight. The endpapers are unmarked (except for 
Wells' signature). Overall, in very good to just less than near fine 
condition. The dust jacket shows the publisher's original price. It is 
chipped at the folds, with one two inch closed tear to the rear panel 
(now repaired with archival tape). There is a small amount of foxing to 
the inside of the jacket (not visible unless it is removed from the 
book). The jacket is now encased in archival-quality clear acetate and 
is in good condition. The more desirable of Wells books are climbing in 
value, and should became even more difficult to find (especially when 
signed) withthe upcoming release of the Tom Cruise blockbuster film /The 
War of the Worlds/.
