Greetings All,

For your consideration:
~
(No. 6962 ) [Hanna, John C. and William R. Witherell, Jr., Editors].
WARPATH: THE STORY OF THE 345TH BOMBARDMENT GROUP IN WORLD WAR II.
(San Angelo, TX): (Newsfoto Publishing Co.), [1946]. First printing, Full
cloth, Quarto, [iv], 277, [22] pages, black & white photographs, drawings.
Very Good.
Rather uncommon unit history on the "Air Apaches," operating in the
southwest Pacific during World War II. The 345th Medium Bombardment Group,
made up of the 498th, 499th, 500th and 501st squadrons, flew Mitchell B-25
gun-nosed twin engine bombers on very effective low level bombing, strafing,
a parafrag missions. Contains a wealth of amazing photographs of bombing
raids from onboard cameras, and the image quality in this original edition
is much better than the modern reprint. In addition to the combat
photographs there are numerous photos of the men and planes on the ground.
Bound in brown textured cloth over boards with white, red, and black
lettering and decoration, endpaper maps. Rubs and mild wear to extremities,
browning to edges of textblock. A few pages have a bit of brown staining.
Hinges sound. $275.00
