France, Anatole. Amycus et Celestin. [New York, Museum Press] 1916.
Original stiff paper wrappers, printed paper label on the front wrapper.
Ownership name on the front endpaper, bookseller's label on the inside rear
wrapper, wrappers soiled, label darkened, otherwise very good. One of 200
copies designed by Bruce Rogers. One of the earliest uses of Rogers'
Centaur type. Haas / Bruce Rogers: a Bibliography item 99. $75.
James, M. R. Address at the unveiling of the roll of honour of the
Cambridge Tipperary Club on July 12, 1916. [Cambridge, 1918]. Original
blue-green paper wrappers. Chipped at the yapp top edges of the front and
rear wrappers, otherwise very good. [5] pp. Cover-title. Warde / Bruce
Rogers, Designer of Books 132. This is the first of two editions, the
"small edition in 4to" printed in Centaur type. The opening page is
reproduced in Stanley Morison / Four centuries of fine printing. $50.
Lawson, J. C. The litany of the elves. Cambridge, at the University
Press, 1919. Original quarter green cloth backstrip and brighter green
textured paper boards. Corners lightly rubbed, otherwise fine. 29 pp. Haas
/ Bruce Rogers: a Bibliography 100. Printed in Centaur type. $75.
Pollard, Alfred W. The trained printer and the amateur and the pleasure of
small books. London, Lanston Monotype Corporation Ltd., 1929. Original
sewn printed wrappers. Small ink stain atthe edge of the rear wrapper,
otherwise fine. The first use of Frederic Warde's Arrighi italic as cut by
Monotype. Also the first printing of Bruce Rogers' Centaur type as cut by
Monotype. With printer's note by Bruce Rogers. Not paginated. $50.
