A sensationally-phrased but amazingly perceptive contemporary
analysis of the Popish Plot, written just after the acquittal of
George Wakeman and others had swung the balance against Oates,
supposedly written by a former clerk to an imaginary judge.

The ten Morrison Foundation lectures, the first of which was
delivered at San Francisco by Roscoe Pound in 1930, followed by
nine others during the 1930's, including those by James Grafton
Rogers and George Wharton Pepper, among others.

Represented as "the first anthology of stories about disputes
resolved without the aid of litigation", full of humor and wisdom,
and venturing as far afield as Ancient Greece, Rome, China, and
medieval England, with a touch of Chaucer and Shakespeare.
