We can offer 2 scarce works of poetry by Hans Marchwitza, German
proletarian novelist & poet. Both are firsts in the original printed
wrappers. Marchwitza (1890-1965) worked as a youth in the coal mines of
the Ruhr. He left Germany in 1933, fought in the International Brigade in
Spain, was interned in France in 1938, fled to the US in 1941, and returned
to the GDR in 1946.
