New York: Harper & Brothers, (1949). First printing, Full cloth, Octavo,
xiv, 161 pages, Black & White photographs. Near fine in a very good,
price-clipped dust jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
      The classic photo essay and history of Greenwich Village. Abbott's 64
pages of fine photographs along with Lanier's lively text capture the
artistic and intellectual spirit of the Village. Stated "First Edition" with
correct Harper & Brothers code on copyright page. Bound in black cloth over
boards with yellow spine and upper board lettering. A few light extremity
rubs, two copies of an apparently contemporary directory of Greenwich
Village booksellers pasted opposite one another on rear endpapers. Three
copies of a map titled "Fourth Ave Broadway Booksellers" are folded and laid
in loose. Jacket has some minor edge wear and overall light soil to rear
panel. An attractive copy.    $150.00
