New York: Derrydale Press, 1937. Limited edition, Hardcover, Quarto, xii,
283 pages, Plates, drawings, fold-out charts. Very good.
      A fine collection of clipper ship lore gathered from the first hand
experiences of Charles A. Abbey. The chapters herein consist of parts of
Abbey's diaries interspersed with complementary sections written by Lt.
Commander Gosnell giving a wealth of explanatory and historical information.
This is copy #189 of an edition of 950 printed at Eugene V. Connett's famed
Derrydale Press. This copy bears the signed bookplate of America's Cup Hall
of Fame member, Victor A. Romagna, Jr. The book is bound in red cloth and
brown paper over boards with gilt-stamped spine and upper board titles. Rubs
and small chips to board edges and spine ends, head of spine slightly
pulled. Hinges sound.    $150.00
