First edition of Romilly's first published essay (expanding upon
his Parliamentary speech) in his long and successful effort to
abolish capital punishment in England, persuasively demonstrating
its enormous inequities and its capricious application.

The last and best early edition of the first classic of English
equity, restoring the "New Additions", providing a substantive
gloss and marginal sidenotes with citations to intervening
authorities, and adding two related early 16th century tracts.

A good, early run of the Journal from its inception through Volume
15, thirteen volumes in total lacking volumes 3 and 12, once the
set of Charles Klein, President Judge of Philadelphia's Orphans
